This is one of the thirteen regional deductions applied by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance and Digital Administration for the 2020 income tax return, which began on 7 April and will run until 30 June. Specifically, citizens can deduct 10 percent of their investments of up to 10,000 euros from their regional income tax liability. in renewable energy installations from the following sources: solar thermal, photovoltaic or wind energy.
With this measure, articulated through the Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia, the Regional Ministry seeks to encourage citizens to invest in renewable energies to supply their homes, due to their economic and environmental advantages. These deductions are applicable for the purchase and installation of solar thermal panels, photovoltaic panels or wind turbines in the taxpayer's usual residence, or in a dwelling intended for renting, provided that this does not constitute an economic activity.
Requirements for the deduction of the irpf deduction for solar panels of a photovoltaic installation
The installation of renewable energy resources must be carried out in dwellings that constitute or will constitute the taxpayer's habitual residence, in accordance with the definition of the same in article 1.1.5 of the Texto Refundido de las disposiciones legales vigentes en la Región de Murcia en materia de tributos cedidos (Consolidated Text of the legal provisions in force in the Region of Murcia regarding assigned taxes), approved by Legislative Decree 1/2010.
This deduction shall also apply to investments made in the acquisition and installation of renewable energy resources in dwellings intended for rental, provided that this rental is not considered an economic activity.
The deduction shall require the prior recognition of the Regional Administration as to its appropriateness in the manner to be determined by regulation.
The application of the deduction shall require that the verified amount of the taxpayer's assets, at the end of the tax period, exceeds the value shown by its verification at the beginning of the same, at least in the amount of the investments made, in accordance with the requirements established in general terms by the state regulations governing Personal Income Tax.
The window will show the amounts paid by the declaration holder.
In the case of marriage and if the amount paid corresponds to the spouses in equal shares, 50 per cent of the total of the amounts paid by both spouses shall be reflected.
Savings in 2019

In the current income tax campaign, the Regional Ministry has also activated a 20 percent deduction for investments of up to 300 euros in the purchase and installation of domestic water-saving devices. Therefore, the deduction can be up to 60 euros, and must be made in the taxpayer's main residence.
